Closed but the day before they are offering meals for Thanksgiving, you need to order in advance and take home
They have good food
I wouldn't know I never worked there .I just ate there and a few times and the food is worth every penny
I like stopping when I'm in the area. Food is good but desserts are even better.
The food is amazing. The staff is really nice. Well deserving of their tip!
Great food and friendly people
Service was very quick and responsive. However, the food was slightly better than fast food. The mashed potatoes and gravy were instant, the corn was previously frozen and the stewed tomatoes had a bunch of sugar dumped on them. The"homemade" Salisbury steak was a chunk of baked meatloaf, but it did have decent gravy. Everything was very bland, but the service was great.
Big plus there is truck parking. The food is good the coffee is not that great. That is the reason for 4 stars other than that this place is good!
Our meal this evening..an open faced hot turkey sandwich and an open faced hot roast beef sandwich both with mashed potatoes and gravy were exvellent..our waitress was very curtious and our food came very quickly.. not my first visit here and I will be back again for sure
It was a walk down memory lane!! They had beef heart which i haven't had in over 30 years!!! It made me think of my mom. It was delicious and i was served so much i had to bring some home. The fried eggplant was also delicious and made me think of my mom. I need to go back again.
Decent place to eat breakfast to dinner. Your going to have a hard time trying to beat the prices here. Staff is very personable & friendly.
Nice local restaurant right off the highway. Lots of options and desserts are made there! Our server was very attentive and the food was good. Average diner food cost, so affordable for people who actually work for a living.
Great family restaurant not far from Hershey, worth exiting off the interstate for sure.
Good service and good food. Easy to get to.
Friendly and professional staff. Food was good and not a long wait. You can see this diner from the road. If your looking for a quick bite to eat or sit down meal. I would recommend this place
I have been going here since I was young, the food is always good and the prices are fair. Bathrooms are clean and the parking lot is decent sized. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Fair prices. Good home cooking.
Good atmosphere, and food.
Great food. Great prices. Ample parking for cars. Big truck parking also. Heavy duty trucks are allowed to park overnight. Parking lot is well maintained and has modest lightening.
Customer service was good. Bathrooms are very worn. Food is decent.
Excellent food, great prices and service
Very good home cooked food and super friendly people. Plus side, they have truck parking so truckers are welcomed. ❤❤
I was a little skeptical because the parking lot was pretty empty. But the food was really good, the place was clean, and the server was very nice and helpful. The coffee was good. I had a tuna sandwich and onion rings. The tuna was good and fresh and it was just the right amount. The sandwich was also reasonably priced at $4.95 and came with chips and pickle slices, but for $2.50 more you can switch the chips out for onion rings, which I did. The onion rings were made with real whole slices of onion, battered, and deep fried. There was plenty of free parking in their lot. All in all it was a good meal and a good dining experience.
Stopped for a quick bite for dinner on the way to Penn State. Comfort food. Quick service. I can recommend the grilled chicken melt with Swiss and mushrooms served on Texas Toast. Chicken was melt in your mouth. The hot roast beef was average according to my wife. Grilled Chicken rap was also good per my 16 year old. They are literally right next to their chicken supplier so that probably explains the good fresh chicken. It's a roadside place so do t expect extravagance but we were outta there for $30 bucks including tip for dinner for 3.
I love this place and would eat here every day if I could. If you have the opportunity to stop and try this place for the first time, I encourage you to do so. I particularly enjoy the jalapeno chicken melt but all of the food is great especially the chicken and beef based dishes.
The food was really good and so was the service, it felt like it was a family owned place and they were all really nice, if you want to try a burger I recommend the Cowboy Melt!
Chili did not seem to be made in house. Turkey sandwich was dry even with sauce on it. The fries were decent.
Great food that was mostly homemade, also very friendly staff!
Whenever my husband and I go out to Hershey,Pa. We stop at Esther's for dinner. Great smaller resturant, good menu to choose from. Very friendly , down to earth place!! Its located on Old 22 on the way to Hershey Pa. Never had a bad experience there yet! Try it!!!
Breakfast is delicious! This restaurant is a staple in the neighborhood with good food and good prices. Old school hospitality with booths and tables that can be put together for groups make it convenient for whatever you need.
Smells like funky mold as you walk in. The waitress at the counter must have been having a really bad day. She bit my head off because she was busy. Well I will go somewhere else then "lady". Sorry to bother you.
They have great service, awesome staff, and fantastic food
We weren't interested in the same ol' FAST food and saw Esther's billboard on the interstate. Took a risk as it welcomed truckers, and it really paid off. Asked the waitress what Esther's was known for; their most popular item. She gave two and I went w the grilled chicken livers w 3 sides. One of the sides was the recommended lettuce w bacon dressing. Later I discovered the dressing was warm & creamy Oh, was it good! The quantities were ample and everything was homemade and hit the mark! My wife's chicken salad on lettuce w tomato slices was delicious. She loved it! The service was prompt and kindly, leaving us pleased we stopped at Esther's.
Good food above top shelf very friendly staff Well knowledge very friendly and helpful probably my favorite stop in keystone state Only hardly anyone knows what a keystone is 😂
Stopped there once for truck parking, but ended up enjoying a wonderful breakfast. I swear, this was the best omelette I ever had in my life!!!
My fiance and I just started going here. We've had breakfast and lunch and loved both. The staff is very polite.
Excellent clam chowder, my husband had a loaded tuna melt which he said was also very good.
Awesome service and awesome food you need to experience it for your self
Friendly staff good food reasonable price easy access 👌👍
Many good memories and meals here with my grandpa
Such a pleasure to find GREAT American homestyle food at reasonable prices! Staff was very courteous and friendly, and the food was perfectly prepared and served. Will definitely stop again! Truck parking available with easy access to I-78.
Tasty food, friendly staff, plus they have room for a handful of 18 wheelers... I will definitely eat here again in the future. Thanks for a pleasant meal after driving up from SC! *edit* Today I enjoyed the spaghetti melt. See the photo. It was delicious. Nicely done burger inside texas toast with spaghetti, marinara and mozzarella on it. Served with French fries and pickles, it was another home run for Esther's!
High quality food. Fair pricing. Great waitresses. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for something to eat in the area.
Been a few years since I was in the area but thankfully I got to visit them again. The chicken pram burger was quite good and the well done fries were a golden brown perfect accompaniment. Service was excellent and the staff make you feel as if you're a regular even after 8 years. Prices are quite reasonable and the Penn Dutch menu is a tried and true delight of great comfort foods and regional standards.
Very good. Took every precautions. Enjoyed
The food was okay. But if you want something elegant it was not. But for regular eating place it's okay.
Great food as always, today. Chicken parm with spaghetti really hit the spot. I'd have photographed the side salad that came with it but that was tasty, too. Or too tasty? Something like that.
Esther's is that place that feels like home cooking. its not gourmet yet it's good simple Americana food. Roast Turkey and chicken croquettes were tasty and the sides abundant. the staff is friendly and salt of the earth. Esther's is that Slice of Americans that you hoped to find aa you travel through pa countryside.
Everything comes with oily fries . Very healthy 😆
Great family restaurant and reasonable prices with plenty to eat & friendly service. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Good home cooking but the chicken pot pie is odd...a plate of noodles and gravy with a piece of fried chicken on top.
Great food at great prices!
The breakfast I had was above average. The potatoes were flavorful, and moist, but not too moist. The spinach, mushroom and cheddar omelet was perfectly done (not scorched). The waitress was genuinely nice (not patronizing). The orange juice was above average and the coffee was hot. The only disappointment was that no one there remembered that, ok I guess it was 40 years ago, one of their signature deserts was the "mile high lemon merengue pie", so named because the merengue topping was insanely high. I am hoping this treat gets back on the menu!
